STANDARD OF CONDUCT FOR LIGHTHOUSE BAPTIST ACADEMY

Lighthouse Baptist Academy holds that the Bibles is the infallible, divine Word of God and that salvation by faith is the initial step in the Christian life.  There is Bible Doctrine for the spiritual growth of the person (Romans 8:29) which is the work of the Holy Spirit (II Corinthians 3:18).  This growth begins with the initial act of saving faith and continues throughout life.  The Holy Spirit makes the Christian conscious of the Biblical demands for a holy life, which fulfills both God’s moral law and high law of love (Mathew 22:37, Romans 13:8-10; Galatians 5:14).  The result is a life consecrated unto God and separated from the World.
Lighthouse Baptist Academy must therefore, provide an environment conductive to the spiritual growth and development of young people who are not yet mature Christians.  A standard of conduct based on he following Biblical imperatives is necessary to provide such an environment.  All of the activities of the hristians must be subordinated to the glory of God who lives in us (I Corinthians 8:9; 12:13; 10:32).  Because of that the Christian will endeavor to avoid practices which cause the loss of sensitivity to thespiritual needs of the world and loss of Christian’s physical, mental or spiritual well being (I Cor nthians 9:27).

A sense of need for spiritual growth in the light of these Bible Christian principles has led Lighthouse aptist Academy to adopt the following standards, which it is believed, are conductive to the environment that ill best promote the spiritual welfare of the student.  The school, therefore, requests each student, whether at home, school or elsewhere:

To refrain from swearing, indecent language, smoking, perforating or tattooing the body, drinking alcoholic beverages, the abuse of drugs, gambling, dancing, and enrolment in rock and roll or so called Christian rock” musicals.

To maintain Christians standards in courtesy, kindness, morality, and honesty.
We expect each student to keep the classroom rules of good conduct as well as the school’s rules in general.
Use a complete uniform (black shoes, polo/shirts with school insignia on, a good natural, regular haircut – boy’s hair length should be 1 or 2 fingers above eyebrows and must not touch the ears or the shirt’s collar.
Every student must show a respectful attitude to all the school’s faculty and personnel at all times.  Every constructive suggestion will be appreciated.  Gripping and lack of respect will not be tolerated.
The selection of the restrictions mentioned in the pledge may appear arbitrary to some; but while not condemning others who see differently, Lighthouse Baptist Academy believes that the restrictions named are outstanding types of conduct which are detrimental to the standards established as its objective.
Students are expected to abide by these standards throughout their enrollment whether at home, school, or elsewhere.  Students found to be out of harmony with Lighthouse Baptist Academy ideals of work and life may be invited to withdraw whenever the general welfare demands it, even though there may be no special breach of conduct.

FILOSOFIA DE CONDUCTA LIGHTHOUSE BAPTIST ACADEMY

Lighthouse Baptist Academy cree que la Biblia es infalible, divina Palabra de Dios y que la salvación por fe en Cristo es el primer paso que uno da para comenzar la vida cristiana.  Existe base Bíblica para la idea de crecimiento espiritual en la imagen de Cristo (Romanos 8:29), lo cual es la obra del Espíritu Santo en la vida del creyente (II Corintios 3:18).  Este crecimiento espiritual comienza con la acción inicial de fe salvadora y continua a través de la vida.  El Espíritu Santo le da y le hace conciencia al Cristiano de las demandas Bíblicas para una vida santa que cumple con la ley moral de Dios y con la ley mas alta del amor (Mateo 22:37; Romanos 13:8-10; Gálatas 5:14).  El resultado es la producción en el Cristiano de una vida consagrada a Dios y separada del mundo.

Por lo tanto, la academia Lighthouse Baptist Academy, debe producir un ambiente que conduzca al crecimiento, desarrollo y madurez espiritual de los niños y jóvenes que asisten a la misma.  Una conducta basada en los siguientes mandatos Bíblicos es necesaria para proveer tal ambiente espiritual.  Todas las actividades del Cristiano deben estar subordinadas a la Gloria de Dios, quien mora en nosotros (I Corintios 8:9; 10:32; 12:13).  Por lo tanto, el Cristiano se esforzará por evitar prácticas que causen la perdida de sensibilidad a las necesidades espirituales del mundo al igual que a la perdida del bienestar Cristiano físico, mental o espiritual (I Corintios 9:27).

Un sentido de la necesidad del crecimiento espiritual y a la vez de estos principios Bíblicos Cristianos ha dirigido a Lighthouse Baptist Academy a adoptar el siguiente reglamento que conduce al ambiente que mejor promoverá el bienestar espiritual del estudiante.  La academia, por lo tanto, requiere que cada estudiante en la escuela, el hogar o cualquier otro lugar:

Abstenerse de lenguaje indecente, fumar, tomar bebidas alcohólicas, abusar de drogas, perforarse o tatuarse el cuerpo, apostar, bailar y envolverse en música “rock” o el tal llamado “rock cristiano”.

Mantener los principios cristianos en cortesía, amabilidad, moralidad y honestidad.

Se espera que cada estudiante mantenga las reglas de conducta en el salón de clases y las reglas generales de la escuela.

Uniforme completo (zapatos negros, polo/camiseta identificado con la insignia del colegio, recorte parejo, el pelo de los varones no debe tocar la oreja ni el cuello de la camisa y llegar a 1 o 2 dedos de las cejas, el largo de las faldas de las niñas debe cubrir las rodillas al estar sentadas o de pie).

Todo estudiante debe mostrar actitud de respeto a todo el personal del colegio en todo momento.  Asistir a la academia es un privilegio, no un derecho.  Toda sugerencia constructiva será apreciada.  El murmurar y la falta de respeto no será tolerada.

La selección de las restricciones mencionadas en este acuerdo pueden parecer arbitrarias para algunos; sin embargo, mientras no condenamos a otros que ven las cosas diferente, la Academia si cree las

REGLAS DE VESTIMENTA

PARA TODOS LOS ESTUDIANTES:

Debe Usarse siempre el uniforme del color correcto de la escuela con la insignia, zapatos negros y un recorte de pelo propio a no ser que se de una anuncio diferente por alguna razón o actividad especial que así lo requiera.

Las camisas y las blusas deberán usarse dentro del pantalón o de la falda siempre.

Obedecer toda regla que se implemente para mantener una buena apariencia, buen testimonio, buen ejemplo a otros y agrada y glorificar a Dios en nuestras vidas.

PROHIBIDO TERMINANTEMENTE:

Usar polos, ropa o uniformes apretados.
Ponerse jackets o abrigos fuera del salón de clase.
Usar zapatos sin medias.
Venir con recortes “punk”, “mundanos” y o de multicolores.
Usar lentes de sol dentro o durante la clase.
Tener tatuajes y/o joyas o prendas en partes del cuerpo atravesados por agujas (Excepto las jovencitas en las orejas y no mas de una).
Traer a la escuela radios portátiles (Walk-man, CD players), i-pods, cámaras digitales, teléfonos celulares.

Traer a la escuela computadoras portátiles sin previo permiso de la oficina.

PARA NIÑAS Y JOVENCITAS:

El ruedo de las faldas o vestidos debe cubrir las rodillas cuando estén de pie o sentadas.
De usar chaleco en el uniforme, este deberá usarse todo el tiempo.
Se permite usar lápiz labial solamente de color claro.
El uniforme y la ropa debe ser modesta y conservadora dentro y fuera de todas las actividades del colegio, incluyendo excursiones y graduaciones.

No se permiten pantallas colgantes.  Deber ser pegadas a la oreja y no más largas de ¾ de pulgada.

PROHIBIDO TERMINANTEMENTE:
Usar Excesivo número de joyas, prendas y collares.
Maquillaje exagerado.
Recortes “punk” mundanos, pintados de multicolores o adornos excesivos en el cabello.

PARA VARONES:

Las camisas deberán usarse y estar siempre dentro del uniforme.
Usar una correa todo el tiempo.

Recorte de pelo correcto: El pelo no debe tocar ni cubrir las orejas o el cuello de la camisa atrás.  Al frente deberá caer a no más de dos dedos más arriba de las cejas. 

Usar corbata propiamente ajustada cuando sea requerida.

PROHIBIDO TERMINANTEMENTE:

Recortes de pelo “punk”, el pelo pintado o con “hair tips”  (puntas de pelo con diferentes colores).
Usar pantalones con ruedos enrollados.

Usar aretes o pantallas (no usarlas ni dentro ni fuera de la escuela).
Tener la oreja, la lengua o cualquier otra parte del cuerpo perforado o con una prenda puesta (dentro o fuera de la escuela).
Tatuajes en el cuerpo.

FOR ALL STUDENTS:

Proper color school uniforms with school insignia, proper haircut, and dark black shoes must be worn at all times except when announced for special activities that do not require it.
Polo or tight looking uniforms are not allowed.
Jackets or coats must not be worn outside the classroom.
Socks must be worn at all times.
Shirts and blouses must be in line with school uniform standards, and must be tucked in at all times unless announced differently.
No punk, wild, worldly, multicolor, crazy looking haircuts are allowed.
The use of sunglasses is not permitted during class.
No body parts pierced, jewelry or tattoos are allowed.

No portable radios (walk-man), cd players, i-pods, digital cameras or cell phones are permitted.
No laptops allowed, unless a previous permission from the office has been given.

FOR GIRLS:

Skirts or dress hem must cover the knees when standing straight or seated.
Girl’s school jackets must be worn at all times unless otherwise specified.
Only a clear color of lipstick is allowed.
No hanging earrings.  Earrings should not be larger than ¾”.
No body parts or tong pierced jewelry or tattoos are allowed.
No wild, worldly, crazy looking multicolor appearance must be patent at all times in and outside school activities and or graduations.
Modest dress and conservative looking appearance must be patent at all times in and outside school activities and/or graduations.
No exaggerated make up is allowed.
Any other implemented rules must be obeyed to keep a good appearance, be a good testimony, be a good example to others, please and glorify God in our lives.

FOR BOYS:
Must wear a belt at all times.
Rolled up cuffs or trousers are not allowed.
Punk haircut, painted or hair tips will not be permitted.

Boy’s haircut must not touch or cover ears or shirt collar.  Hair must be at least two fingers above eyebrows.
Ties put on properly will be worn to chapel when announced by the school.
No earrings are allowed in or outside school.
Shirts must be worn and be tucked in at all times unless announced differently.
Any other implemented rules must be obeyed to keep a good appearance, be a good testimony, be a good example to others, please and glorify God in our lives.
